I am a writer based in Waco, Texas.

My literary projects often sit outside mainstream trends and explore the questions and challenges facing modern men. The stories look hard at calling, obsession, violence, and the cost of following convictions, but they are rooted in hope rather than despair. Faith is a recurrent theme and the backbone to much of my work.

I have published seven books of fiction, many of them composed of multiple stories. Across them, I return to questions of vision, sacrifice, and the truth that remains in the midst of loss. While my themes remain consistent, my style and form are eclectic and often change from book to book.

My novel One Night in a Thousand Years was an Audio Award finalist for Young Adult Book of the Year and is in development for a feature film. I have also written for numerous organizations and publications including the American Cancer Society, Field & Stream, and Magnolia Journal.
